The accused was arrested after eight minors and an older person fell ill at the location in July.

The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a multiple criminal counts when he was present at the courthouse on Friday.

Yet, he denied one particular crime he was facing, which was involving a young boy.

The accused was remanded in custody before a additional proceeding on November 28th.

'Treat game'

The prosecutor, handling the case, described the criminal behavior to the court.

She explained his those affected were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a summer camp which he ran.

The man played a "sweet game" with the children, the legal counsel explained, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and tell them to eat sweets "as quickly as they can".

She informed the proceedings the defendant had engaged in this activity with the young males "repeatedly", and minors had previously become sick the following morning.

She explained the man had been able to explain this for many years as the children being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had suspicions in recently.

The prosecutor stated further: "Recently" his stepchild had suspicions about the situation, for good reason.

"They decided to investigate in the defendant's belongings."

The prosecutor said objects including lubricant, Vaseline and medical needles were found, and his stepchild notified the law enforcement about his concerns.

She said the defendant went on to play the "treat game" with six boys that evening - that Saturday - and they were all sick the next day.

"Authorities" had not arrived by that point," she continued.

The oversight body, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, previously told that it was examining Leicestershire Police's handling of the events.

Mrs Prior explained the youngsters were struggling to walk due to their sickness, so Ruben's stepson called the police a second time.

She explained Ruben then conducted the "sweet game" in a space of five minors.
